Also, on Saturday, June 23 from 9:00-12:00, UAB is sponsoring a Young Authors Literacy Festival. The event is free and open to everyone. It is being held at the UAB Mini Park at University Blvd. and 14th Street. "Free books for the children, a fashion show of Kenyan dress, music and dance, and an African Folk Tales storyteller. The focus of the event is literacy, celebrating books and children along with the culture and literature of Kenya."
