Fine Arts Night

We could have not asked for a better turnout for our Fine Arts Night last night! The pizza was gone in 30 minutes, the artwork was beautiful and the dancing was fun!  Thank you to our PTO volunteers, Mrs. Morgan, Mrs. Shaw, Mrs. Sauls and Ms. Howard. Thank you for a superb evening!

Coin Drop - Day 5!

I can't believe it!  With everyone's contributions, we made $9,424.17!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Winning classrooms were:
Kindergarten - Russ
1st grade - Smith
2nd grade - McBrayer/Creed
3rd grade - Strength
4th grade - Darroch
5th grade - Flint
Winners today received an ice cream sandwich and 30 extra minutes of recess!

Overall Winner - Smith

The grade level that raised the most money today was 3rd grade!
They received a Rice Krispie treat.  Congrats!

We Literally Had a Coin Drop - Day 4

Today, students brought in quarters and leftover pennies, nickels and dimes for a total of $2,270.26.  
Our grand total is $5,335.37!  Way to go GV!
Winning classrooms are:

Kindergarten - Watts
1st grade - Garrett
2nd grade - McBrayer/Creed
3rd grade - Strength
4th grade - Brown
5th grade - Lacy
Winners received chips today AND get 30 minutes of extra recess tomorrow!

Overall Winner - Brown

The grade level that raised the most money today was 2nd grade!
They will receive a treat tomorrow!

Because everyone has done an excellent job of bringing in
coins for our school, we ALL get to have a Tacky Day on Friday!

As you can see below, we literally dropped our coins!  Thank goodness
the machine does the counting for us!

A Dime a Dozen...or more - Day 3

Today, students brought in dimes and leftover nickels and pennies.
We collected $1,731.55 today!!!!!
A grand total of $3,036.61!!!
The winners of each grade level are:

1st grade - Prutzman
2nd grade - McBrayer/Creed
3rd grade - West
4th grade - Woods
5th grade - Lacy

Overall Winner: Lacy

Today's winning classes will receive fruit snacks.  Tomorrow, these classes 
also earned a backwards day.  That should be interesting!

GV Parent Tech Night - A Success!

Give Me Five! - Day 2

Today, students brought in nickels (and any leftover pennies
they didn't bring yesterday).  Today the students brought in
$680.65.  Our two-day total is $1,295.06!  The winners for each
grade level are:

Kindergarten - Wattts
1st grade - Prutzman
2nd grade - McBrayer/Creed
3rd grade - West
4th grade - Woods
5th grade - Lacy

Overall Winner - McBrayer/Creed

The winning classrooms will receive popcorn and will get
ice cream tomorrow (no crazy clothes day prize due to
picture day).  Congratulations!

A Penny For Your Thoughts - Day 1 Coin Drop

Students were asked to bring in pennies today to begin our coin drop.
They brought in $614.41 worth!  The winners for each grade level are:

Kindergarten - Watts
1st grade - Garrett
2nd grade - McLevaine
3rd grade - West
4th grade - Woods
5th grade - Lacy

Overall Winner - Watts

The winning classrooms will receive a fruit roll-up for snack
AND get to wear a cap/hat tomorrow.  Congratulations! 
Tuesday...nickels!








One fish, two fish, red fish, 1,555 fish!

Students were asked to estimate how many fish were
in the fish bowl.  The winner receives $10 to spend
at our April Book Fair!

And the winner is....Mrs. Rister's student had the closest
guess - 1, 440. He was the only student who asked for the
dimensions of the fish bowl.  Congratulations!
