Exploring the Common Core

Teachers gathered for a half day of job-embedded professional development to learn more about the Language Arts College and Career Ready Standards.  Kim Warner, our reading coach, led the discussions.  Pictured here are our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade teachers.

A Soggy Curriculum Night

Families braved the wet and soggy weather conditions to take a look at the learning taking place in our school.  The students were so excited to show off for their parents - they even tried to teach them a new game or strategy or show them how they started their day on the Nook.

Building Simple Machines

Mrs. Giles' third grade class is building simple machines using Legos.

It takes some planning...

...and problem solving

...and cooperation

...to make these levers, pulleys, or wheels and axle.

Learning can be fun!
